Tom Cooper from Empingham  with Rutland Water biggest ever trout a 17lbs 6ozs brown.2013.

As from the first of July i will now be able to take out clients on Rutland Water as i have now finished working. I have taken early retirement and will have a lot of spare time on my hands. so why not make use of my services and call me on 07974954552 for information on pricing and availbility.

Now it's time to check your flies for the coming season. Throw away any old and damaged flies from your fly box, check the online wed sites for the most up to date    flies. Chris Cook has always great deals, check his web site. troutflies uk

If you fish for fun or you like match fishing check for all competition dates in advance check the wab site for any further information.

Now that's all been done, you should be ready for the season ahead.

The Last two years we ran a forum site and it was hit by spammers. so we had to take it off. the cost of putting another forum package is to expensive at this time.

As this a none money making web site, it is getting harder to maintain the service so this may be the last season that we operate as Rutland Gillies, we will have to wait and see.

We have a new competition page under fisherman news head line. If you have a competition or you would like to advertise an event please contact Ziggy at Rutland Gillies.

Take a look at the reports page for weekly up to date information about your local waters.

Accommodation can be arranged to suit your needs. So why not treat a partner, friend or even yourself to a days trout fishing on some of the best fly fishing waters in the country.

If you own a Hotel, Guest House, Caravan or Camp site near any of the Fisheries on this web site and you would like to advertise them please contact Rutland Gillies and we will be pleased to put your place on the web page that is relevant to you.

UK Weather

  • Cooler weather on the way for November
One of the warmest October months on record gives way to a mild start for November. It will turn colder as we move through the month and this will bring some nightime frosts. It looks set to be a rather unsettled month with showers and longer spells of rain.
