Stocks:Monday 10th April.

Sport: The boats had the best of the sport today with no areas showing as hot spots, the drifting boats picked up fish in many areas with the fish lying deeper in the cooler temperatures. Mark Tyndall and Ron Blondell found trout in several areas using di3 and 5 sinking lines with tadpoles cormorants and dawsons olive their best patterns. Our own Pete Scholes and Jane Turner had similar success once again in different areas. They utilized fast glass and midge tip lines with a combination of blobs, minkies and cats whisker flies. Biggest fish of the day went to Ron Melling in the form of an 8lb 12oz rainbow. Rons big trout took a black lure fished on a sinking line in the northern shallows. Syotw Paul.

BANK ROD AV:                         6.4 fish per angler

Sport: It was a belting day on the reservoir today and the sport was pretty good as well. We saw some good catches taken from all over the reservoir, especially The Northern Shallows, Willow Island, Ten Acre Foot for the boats and from Hollins Bay all the way to Grange Point from the shore.
Ian Cutts had a cracking bag of five from Gull Island his bag included a rainbow of 8lbs 10oz, (see pic below). Ian used a floating line and a black tadpole.
Black tadpoles also worked well for Jimmy and Ian Ridock who used them to great effect to bring a whopping twenty six fish to their boat. The caught from the Jetty to Hartley’s Bank and the Northern shallows.
Bob Fitzpatrick had twelve to green peas and diawls mainly from the Northern Shallows but he picked a few up in various other spots. He landed a beautiful rainbow of 8lbs.
On the shore there were some great catches too.
Tony Newman tempted sixteen trout from Bell Point and Ben’s Beach, not sure what tactics he used.
Keith Landless took fourteen fish on tadpoles from Hartley’s and Hollins.
Ashley Horsley had fifteen trout from around Bell Point. Ashley used an intermediate line with a red marabou blood worm and a grizzle cat.
Mathew Bracewell aged 11 (pictured below) had a fantastic day. Mathew fished from Hollins Bay to Two Trees with an intermediate line and a blob hothead damsel combination to catch a very impressive 13 trout. Good angling that man, one to watch for the future I think! Tight lines Ben
